Dr. Ayantika Sen is a translational immunologist with 7+ years of research experience. Her areas of expertise include innate immune responses to bacterial and viral infections, viral infection-associated cancers, microRNA biology, and immune-regulatory functions, exosome biology, and the role of estrogen and estrogen receptors in disease pathogenesis.
Dr. Sen has a number of key accomplishments to her name, including 2 first-author publications in peer-reviewed journals and 1 awarded fellowship. She has also received 12 awards, including the outstanding graduate student award, research award, 3-minute thesis second runner-up, best oral and poster presentation awards, and travel awards. In addition to her research pursuits, Dr. Sen has 2 years of teaching experience in microbiology, immunology, and scientific communication, and has served as a scientific peer reviewer.
In terms of leadership and mentoring skills, Dr. Sen has been a committee member of the Stanford Immunology Postdoc Association and has coordinated summer projects for high school, undergraduate, and medical students. She has provided research training to a variety of students at different levels, as well as career mentorship to high school and undergraduate students. Additionally, Dr. Sen has served as the president of the International Students’ Organisation for OSU-Tulsa and OSU-CHS.
